I didn't have to write about this, but I feel like it's appropriate to just, talk.
It's been a while, and the last time I thought of posting an honest Blog post was when I was talking bad about the company I worked for during my internship period. That post alone took me one whole week of brainstorming in order to expose the horrors of working in that company, while not exposing any confidential and controversial stuff that could possibly get me into trouble.
The numbers in the title is the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, and if you were to Google it up, you'll notice that there's a small caption above the number which states : You're not alone. That statement couldn't be more accurate, as there's millions of people going through the similar pain that you're probably going through. Even I myself can't escape this dark and horrifying reality sometimes, but I do some self encouragement to persevere.
The numbers in the title is also the title of a song that has gone extremely viral, because of the message that it portrays in the lyrics, the strong and moving music video, and the feels that accompany the entire 4 minute duration of the song, and the 7 minute duration of the music video. The music video portrays both the issues of suicidal thoughts and the fear of stepping out of the closet, as you're deemed as a sinner and should be executed, among other things.
It's a pro-LGBT music video, and also an awareness video for suicide, given the recent events that took the lives of Chester Bennington and Chris Cornell. This is important as it highlights the events that there are people out there who are afraid of being their true selves, as they're afraid of society rejecting them for who they are - which leads them to contemplating, and possibly committing suicide. Regardless of what year we're in, there will always be a discrimination towards people who are not like other people. because they're identified as abnormal individuals for having a different sexual preference.
I'm not going to mention that it's 2017 and it's time to be more of a free thinker , but it's good to understand that there are people out there who are afraid to confess to the world that they're not, normal in a way - and it really doesn't help if you're someone who actually makes it known that you absolutely despise people who do not have the same sexual preferences like normal people do. They're human as well, love each other. Imagine that your best friend is facing these troubles, and you're the only person they trust, but they cannot confess to you as you'll probably crucify them for doing so. It's silly, be more open minded - you could save a life.
