Sempiternal

This was arguably the hardest video project that I was tasked to do during my time in university. It started with around 10 people in the class coming up with a short scenario for a video that we would eventually submit for a short film competition with a pretty high winning prize (I'm assuming it was about RM1,000). That is a lot of money for a university student.

My video followed an already made video on YouTube, which was this. I was thinking of creating a carbon copy of the video, but I was limited towards my creative freedom and process by my lecturer-in-charge of the class for the semester.

Sempiternal means (according to Google): eternal and unchanging; everlasting.

I found out of that term through Bring Me The Horizon's Shadow Moses, which was one of my top songs during that time. The definition of sempiternal and Luke Conard's "If" music video fit pretty well together, so that was my video project and title.

The story tells of a guy who has aspirations to become a professional musician, which leads to an audition scene. However, the father completely rejects the idea of having his son go into the music business and in a terrible turn of events, gets hospitalized after an argument with his son. A series of unfortunate events follow through but, the video poorly portrays that. Decent attempt I suppose. My first time as a director and somewhat producer + editor.
