Stress To Happiness.

By Gregory Low - July 30, 2014

What lies before us and what lies beyond us is tiny compared to what lies within us. We can try to avoid making choices by doing nothing, but even that is a decision. Make the most of today. Translate your good intentions into actual deeds.

Only a mediocre person is always at his best. It is better to light a small candle than to curse the darkness. First we form habits, then they form us. Conquer your bad habits, or they will eventually conquer you. To avoid criticism, do nothing, say nothing, be nothing. One cannot govern with buts.

In times of stress, be bold and valiant. All who seek the roots of life dig in solitude for them. Once you make the fundamental choice to be the predominant creative force in your life, any approach you choose to take for your own growth and development can work, and you are especially attracted to those approaches which will work particularly well for you.

Some people have greatness thrust upon them. Very few have excellence thrust upon them. Self-image sets the boundaries of individual accomplishment. You must have long-range goals to keep you from being frustrated by short-range failures.

We are convinced that happiness is never to be found, and each believes it is possessed by others, to keep alive the hope of obtaining it for himself. Happiness and love are just a choice away.

There is something curiously boring about somebody else's happiness. A man can be happy with any woman, as long as he does not love her.

The great essentials to happiness in this life are something to do, something to love and something to hope for. Happiness is good health and a good memory.

When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us.

The supreme happiness of life is the conviction that we are loved; loved for ourselves, or rather, loved in spite of ourselves.

If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap. If you want happiness for a day, go fishing. If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody. There is something curiously boring about somebody else's happiness.

We act as though comfort and luxury were the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about
